Allison M. Fox is a Board Certified Music Therapist and educator from the New England region who has served as a core faculty member for the Music Therapy Program at Utah State University since 2019. Allison graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of Delaware and later earned a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling, Expressive Arts Therapies, and Music Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She is an active drummer and percussionist and has been afforded incredible opportunities to perform around the world.

Prior to becoming a full-time educator, Allison spent nearly a decade working clinically as a music therapist, therapeutic recreation director, and program administrator within various care facilities while serving diverse clients and communities. Her personal teaching philosophy incorporates critical constructivist student-centered learning, experiential and reflexive practices, and collaborative community-engaged outreach. She believes in the value of crafting comprehensive educational offerings that blend theory and practice while fostering passion for advocacy and innovation through sustainable and accessible community partnerships. Above all else, Allison is dedicated to empowering students with diverse identities and backgrounds through person-centered mentorship while modeling knowledge and skills that drive positive change through music and connection.
