The ceramics emphasis area offers courses for advanced undergraduates and graduate students who are assigned individual studio spaces and provided with access to a variety of studio equipment. In addition to the 15,000 square feet of studio space and a covered outdoor kiln area, we have 20 kilns, including electric, gas, salt, soda and wood. The Student Ceramics Guild sponsors regular sales that fund visiting artists, equipment purchases and participation in the annual National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts conference. Additionally, the ceramics area offers three study abroad programs at Southern Cross University in Australia, Hongik University in Korea, and the Jingdezhen Pottery Workshop in China.
