Greetings from the Dean
Thank you for your interest in the Caine College of the Arts!
Whether you are a student, parent, patron of the arts, or a community member interested in our outreach programs, we are pleased to introduce ourselves to you. Ours is an active artist's community with much to share!
If this is your first visit to our website, we would like you to know that Caine College of the Arts or "CCA" as our friends call us, is a mere decade old. Over the past ten years, our College has brought together a stellar, world-class faculty to educate a multitude of gifted students across all arts disciplines. Our founding Dean, Dr. Craig Jessop, and the entire CCA faculty built this College on the values of personal excellence in education and artistry expressed through performance, exhibition, scholarship, and innovation. We are actively grounded in the principles of equity, access, and inclusion for all.
We comprise a student-centered community with a passion for mentoring each of our emerging artists toward successful, artistic futures and engaged citizenship. We remain dedicated to building their skills, knowledge, and attitudes for careers in their chosen practice. Diversity of expression is encouraged, as is resilience and entrepreneurial thinking nurtured. We ask: "what do you want to give to the world through your art?" We will help you create yourself.
Time & Place
This eminent moment in time is beyond comparison. Our collective experiences of managing our physical health and mential wellness --while sustaining our everyday existence-- continue to be unique challenges for everyone. At Caine College of the Arts, we are so proud of the resilience, creative problem solving, and intentionality demonstrated by our students and faculty since March 2020. Pandemic, or not, by defining themselves as artists, their making and doing of art never missed a beat; they know who they want to be in the future, and they are well on their way.
There is no more powerful or engaging experience than doing, becoming immersed in, and being transformed by the arts. We invite all to get a glimpse into others' worlds through the arts, thus deepening your aesthetic sensibilities and growing your heart for humankind.
Please join us!
With all the best wishes,
Rachel Lee Nardo, Dean
